* One may be able to utilize a # 2 collet on these rims. Normally though, the uncommon rebated rim diameter of .385" (per Starline Brass, September, 2011) creates the need for a special collet. This cartridge is designed to be a heavy duty semi rimless 38 Super. Similar internal capacity to the 38 Super, but changed to enhance feeding reliability in high capacity magazines. In open competition USPSA shooters are using this round in high capacity variants of the 1911. They are double stacked guns which accommodate up to 29 plus 1 (30 rounds).
